Chief David Raab

One behalf of the members of the Elkins Park Fire Company, I would like to welcome you to this website.

As the newly elected District Fire Chief of Station 3, for the year 2007, I have the grand honor and privilege to work with a dedicated group of volunteer firefighters who are committed to providing the fire and life safety needs of our community.

The fire company is a volunteer public service and thus we survive on the communities support to strive to meet the service demands. The responsibilities of the Fire Department are constantly changing and have grown from just, "fighting fires". Today, we deliver and serve in an "all risk" capacity and are responding to a much broader range of preventative and emergency response services than ever before.

While we volunteer and carry out our duties to provide for a safe and healthy community, I am constantly reminded of how delicate and valuable life is. As a result of the terrible and tragic events on 11 SEPTEMBER 2001 that struck our nation, we all have once again been reminded that the business of protecting life and property has a very high price tag. Our members' serve day and night in harm's way devoted to making each and every one of you safe.

I believe that the men and women serving the Elkins Park Fire Company do so with courage, energy, and professionalism. I can firmly state that your Fire Department is prepared to meet any challenges the future may bring. I am proud to be your District Fire Chief and thank you for taking the time to become familiar with us.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the Active Fire Crew, and every member of our community for his or her continued spirit and support and collaboration in matters of the fire and life safety.

- Chief David Raab
