Sale of our 1965 American LaFrance Pumper June 28th, 2007   John Hearn, Chubby Obrecht and Tom Robinson represented Elkins Park Fire Company (EPFC) for the delivery of this antique Pumper. After reacquiring ownership a few years ago, EPFC entered this antique in several parades and won a trophy for the Philadelphia fire muster. Unfortunately, space limitations associated with the purchase of our two new Pierce Pumpers forced us to sell the antique Pumper. We'll miss her and will never forget this important piece of our Company's history. We thank Ogontz, McKinley, and Bryn Athyn fire companies for allowing us to temporarily store the antique Pumper. We also thank Glasgow, Inc. for offering a loading ramp for delivery. See Hotshots section for pictures
Fire on Fairview Road April 28th, 2007   Congratulations to Gus Langford, Jackie Boutcher, John Marshall, David Raab, and Chris Faust for rescuing an elderly victim during this heavily involved attic fire. Multiple lines were placed in service and the roof had to be ventilated. We wish to thank all of the companies who helped extinguish this fire.

Windsor Avenue Fire February 10th, 2007   See Hotshots - Elkins Park Fire Company, along with other companies, aggressively attacked and extinguished a dwelling fire on Windsor Avenue.
Working fire Webster Ave, Glenside January 30th, 2007   E3 responded to a working fire at Webster Avenue in Glenside. E3 assisted in water supply, interior attack, overhaul, and ladder work. Congratulations to the crew and another job well done. This was the third working fire of the new year for EPFC.
Structure Fire in Jenkintown, PA January 23rd, 2007   On January 23, 2007, Elkins Park Fire Company responded to a fully involved structure fire in Jenkintown, PA. In assisting area companies, Ladder 3 performed a trench cut, helping to extinguish the fire while preventing damage to the adjoining building.

Elizabeth Road Fire January 14th, 2007   On Friday morning, January 15, 2007, Station 3 assisted local Companies extinguish a basement fire. This was the first working of the year for Station 3. Congratulations to David Raab and Ken Kretschmer for being on the nozzle and extinguishing the fire.
2 New Engines January 13th, 2007   Elkins Park Fire Company expects delivery of its 2 new Engines within a few weeks. Stay tuned!
Congratulations January 5th, 2007   Congratulations to David Raab for responding to the most calls for the second year in a row, narrowly beating out Ken Kretschmer.
Inspecting Our New Engines January 5th, 2007   On January 8, 2007, Chubby Obrecht, Tom Robinson, Bill Obrecht, Sr., and John Hearn will inspecting our new engines at Pierce Manufacturing in Wisconsin. Check back soon for some updated photographs.
St. James School's Fire Prevention Week October 11th, 2006   Elkins Park Fire Company participated in St. James School's Fire Prevention Week.
Elkins Park Fire Company's Open House October 10th, 2006   Elkins Park Fire Company hosted an Open House for National Fire Prevention Week. Thank you to everyone who attended.
Cheltenham Township's Fire Exposition October 9th, 2006   Elkins Park Fire Company participated in Cheltenham Township's Fire Exposition to honor National Fire Prevention Week.
Working fire October 3rd, 2006   On October 1, 2006, Engine 3 and Ladder 3, along with neighboring Companies, were dispatched for a smoke condition, which was confirmed as a working fire in the kitchen. Lines were run into the dwelling and Ladder 3 ventilated the structure, extinguishing the fire.
Philadelphia Fire Muster September 10th, 2006   Congratulations to Elkins Park Fire Company for winning 3rd Place at the Philadelphia Fire Muster for Company-Owned Trucks from 1060-1980.
Open House for Fire Prevention Week September 6th, 2006   Tuesday, October 10, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Stop by the Station with the family for free items and fire prevention tips before the winter season.

Engine Sold April 3rd, 2006   We recently sold our Engine and will be acquiring a new pumper in the near future.
Beef and Beer February 4th, 2006   A beef and beer was held on February 4, 2006 at Rodeph Shalom to assist Bill Obrecht, Sr. in his time of need. The Company wishes to thank everyone who helped make the beef and beer a success. 8231 Cadwalader Ave November 26th, 2005   On November 26, 2005, our new ladder truck, along with both engines, responded to a fully-involved structure fire at our Chief's house. Despite fighting this fire for more than four hours with the help of a number of other fire companies, Chief Bill Obrecht, Sr.'s house could not be saved. <see the hotshots section for Photos>
New Pierce 105' Lance Aerial September 10th, 2005   A housing ceremony took place on September 10, 2005 commemorating the acquisition of the Company's new Pierce 105' Lance Aerial, which replaced our 1992 Pierce Ladder Tower.
Two grants through the Volunteer Firefighter Loan Assistance Program June 1st, 2005   President John L. Hearn successfully secured two grants through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Volunteer Firefighter Loan Assistance Program totaling over $22,000.00. These funds were used for building repairs. Specifically, the Company replaced 22 windows in the firehouse to protect the community's investment of apparatus. Although Company funds were utilized to complete the repairs, the grant reduced a major expenditure from the Company's operating budget and enabled more resources to be directed towards fire fighting and protecting the community.
